Estrellas de cine
Shelly es guay. Tiene casi doce años y le caigo muy bien. Es actriz y me ha dicho que es muy famosa. Me divierto mucho con ella. Ayer fuimos por las casas del barrio aporreando los buzones de las puertas. Shelly me dio un codazo y me dijo que no me olvidara de que todo era una actuación. Entonces las puertas se fueron abriendo.
—Por favor, ayude a los pobres niños y animales enfermos que se están muriendo —dijo Shelly, y me hizo tender las manos.
Recaudamos diecisiete euros y Shelly me dio cinco para que me los quedara. No me deja que se lo diga a mamá.
Shelly dijo que más tarde me va a pintar los labios, a maquillar con sombra de ojos violeta y mejillas rosadas. Me va a poner un vestido brillante. Dice que están de moda. Después vamos a ir a la habitación de su hermano mayor y ha dicho que seremos estrellas de cine. Él mola y tiene coche.

Film Stars
Shelly is great. She is nearly twelve and she really likes me. She is an actress and told me she is very famous. I have lots of fun with her. Yesterday, we went around the houses in the estate and banged on their letterboxes. Shelly elbowed me and said to remember it was only a show.
The front doors were opened.
Shelly said, ‘Please give help to the poor, sick and dying animals and children,’ and made me put my hands out.
We collected seventeen euro and Shelly gave me five to keep. I’m not allowed to tell Mammy.
Later on, Shelly said she is going to put lipstick on me. Purple eye shadow. Pink cheeks. She is going to give me a sparkly dress. She said they are in fashion. Then we are going to her older brother’s room and she said we will be film stars. He is cool and drives a car.
I can’t wait.
